Are there full time fire fighters at the Fire Department in Lake California? I appealed their rating and have asked.

First Post - I recently had my home owners insurance doubled as the result of a change in the rating for Lake California. Has anybody else had this happen?

The station is not staffed it is 100% volunteer, the increase to your Homeowners rates is because of the ISO, Insurance service office rating. This rating is _base_d on several factors and from what I understand is typically evaluated every 10+ years. Most insurance companies use the ISO as a rating factor when determining homeowners premiums, I can tell you that State Farm does not use this system, I live in Lake Ca. and am a State Farm agent in Red Bluff. I only know of 2 companies that are not using the ISO system when rating at this time, there are surely more out there that I may not be aware of. If your insurance company does not use the ISO system in their rating you will not see an increase in premium due to the ISO.
