NEW Location for Fireworks
by Lisa Peasha
The Lake California Fireworks show will be alunched from a new site this year. The Park Marina Park/Beach Area will be closed throughout the day and evening of July 5th, so please make all your plans and picnic spots at the Lake Club Picnic Area or enjoy the view from the clubhouse deck. This new site has been approved by our local Fire Marshall to be the safest spot on the lake. We will all benefit from this change. No more closing down half the deck before the show and better viewing of the fireworks for many residents not to mention a safer place to launch the display. So your cooperation will be much appreciated in keeping that area clear throughout the day. Also, an hour before the show we will be closing the road access in front of the park for further safety of our residents. All residents that live past the park will be able to enter and leave via the maintenance road between Finger Place and Starboard Drive during that hour prior and during the show.
As for the events during the day, we are currently contacting clubs and working with other volunteers to see that the day's activities are a go. A full schedule of events should be available in the June newspaper. Thanks ahead of time for those of you who will volunteer their time on that day. If you are asked, please consider being a part of the day's events so everyone can enjoy themselves!
Look for the flags and raffle ticket tables throughout the month of May to make your donation. All donations must be in before May 32st, in order to go towards this year's show. Thank you to our newest 76ers Carolyn and Ray Russell and returning 76ers Bob and Louise Wilkinson, Fred and Bea Linn, Roy and Julie Schmidt, Pat and Norm Gruver, Gary and Lynn Beem and Frank and Anna Mae Benz. Other donators to thank are Chet and Lyn Searle and Linda Forward.
Please call Lisa Peasha at 347-1342 with any questions or to reserve your Lake California Fireworks flag.
