Holiday Happenings - Past and Future

By Debbie Thomas

It was a strange group that visited Hawes Farms the day before Halloween...but it was what you'd expect from the Scarlet Ladies out having a fun time dressing up - cowgirls; a baseball player, a cheerleader and that's not including our Costume Winners; "Scary Tere" Hancock as a green-faced witch; Julie Law as a werewolf (complete with red earrings in her pointy ears) and Macho Yet Feminine Construction Worker Betsy Barker.  Those gals each scored a $20 gift certificate to Prime Cinemas while the rest of us took home a belllyful of great tri-tip, beans and salad prepared on site.  After lunch, those willing went on a moo-ving ride behind the tractor pulled cow-train, usually filled with grade school kids.  But isn't that how we acted that day?  You betcha....

November's luncheon at Vettles in Anderson had a great turn out - 33 Red Hatters, of which many took the advice of our waitress and ordered the Chalupa Special or the Meatloaf Sandwich (my favorite).  Hostesses Judy Duffus and Julie Lopez gave out door prizes won by Susan Pitts and Pat Riley.  The winner of the $40 50/50 raffle was Kay Butler - guess who went shopping?

Be sure to mark your calendar for the Annual Christmas Party at the Lake Club on Friday, December 11th at noon.  Photos with Santa, a tasty buffet by the Cottonwood Eatery and lots of goodies are promised to all those good little Scarlet Ladies who attend.

On January 8th, 2010 - pizza party at Lakeside Pizza and Grill here in LC!
