2008 Weed Abatement Program Print E-mail

The Fire-Fuel Abatement program is necessary for fire prevention.

1.   Weed abatement completion date for all tracts is June 30, 2008. Lots will be inspected for compliance on July 1st through July 3rd, 2008.  Maintenance will commence mowing non-compliant lots on July 2nd, 2008 in Tract 1006.

2.    Abatement start date is based on the weather and weed growth.  Cutting too early could result in regrowth and many require additional cutting.

3.   Vegetation is to be mowed to approximately 3” in height. Lots are to be mowed to the extent practical and feasible based on topography of lot.

4.   Also required is mowing around and under living trees including vegetation from the front survey pins to the road or street. Caution should be taken so as not to scar or ring trees as the damage could cause the tree to die.

5.   All abatement equipment and hydro extinguishers must pass a CDF inspection. A 2 ½ gallon water extinguisher and a long handled, round pointed shovel must be on site during mowing, regardless of the type of mowing equipment used. If equipment is found to be in non-compliance, you will be subject to a fine by the P.O.A.

6.   Mowing times must adhere to hours posted by the P.O.A., 6:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon.   Failure to observe these hours will result in a citation and fine being issued by the P.O.A.

7.   All lots not mowed by the deadline are subject to a fine of $200.00 and a $100.00 mowing charge. The P.O.A will contract to have the lot mowed and the property owner will be billed $300.00.

8.   This notice will appear in the MARCH, APRIL, MAY and JUNE issues of the Lake California NEWS and will be posted on the bulletin board outside the LCPOA office during this period.

9.   Again, on July 1st, 2nd and 3rd, 2008, management will have all lots inspected.

10. All contractors must have a $1,000,000 liability insurance policy naming the P.O.A. as additional insured.   Certificates must be sent to the P.O.A. office prior to mowing any lot.   There will be a $500 fine for non-compliance and it will be enforced this year.

Note: Please do not contact the office and ask to have your lot mowed. This is an individual lot owner’s responsibility.
