Lake Club Food Service and Lounge:
To say it has been difficult to keep the food service and lounge going under Covid 19 guidelines would be an understatement. We would like to put all the rumors to rest once and for all.
Based on the State Covid guidelines, The California Department of Alcoholic Beverage Control (ABC) guidelines, and the County of Tehama guidelines we have done our best to make sure everything has been done properly and safely. While other business may not follow these guidelines, we will. We are not going to be subject to fines, suspensions or jeopardize the licenses we hold. We have lost our most recent Chef, Line Cook, Server and now as of this week, our full time Bartender let us know he would not be returning. The only staff member we currently have is our part time Bartender, Caryn.
Under the Red and Orange Tiers alcoholic beverages may only be consumed while eating a meal prepared from an operating kitchen along with also having limited occupancy requirements. We have been looking for a Chef or line cook for the past 2 ½ months through our hiring agency along with local postings on our office sign, blog, and newsletter. We are hoping to find someone that can prepare meals that comply with current guidelines so we may slowly reopen our food services and once again have residents enjoy a meal and beverage at the Lake Club/Lounge area. If we do not have an operating kitchen the lounge will not open inside until Tehama County is listed in the Yellow tier since meals will not be required at that time while having an alcoholic beverage. There will still be occupancy guideline limits within the Yellow tier. We do not qualify as a Winery, Distilleries, or Breweries. Those businesses have different guidelines which may be confusing some of you based on comments we have seen or have been asked about.
Naturally our opening back up revolves around being able to hire a qualified staff that we feel can accommodate our residents. Until we find people that would like to work there is not much we can do.
