It has been reported that there has been recent mountain lion activity in our community. Mountain lions (also known as cougars or pumas) are typically shy, but they may enter neighborhoods in search of food, water, or shelter—especially at dawn, dusk, or during the night.

🦁 Safety Guidelines

✅ Supervise children and pets
Keep kids and pets close when outdoors, especially near greenbelts, trails, or wooded areas.

🚫 Do not approach
If you see a mountain lion:

  • Do not run.

  • Face the animal and make yourself look larger (raise your arms, open your jacket).

  • Speak firmly and back away slowly.

  • Throw rocks or sticks only if the animal approaches.

🏠 Secure your property

  • Bring pets inside at night.

  • Don’t leave pet food or water outdoors.

  • Keep garbage secured.

  • Remove brush or vegetation where animals might hide.

📞 Report Sightings Immediately

Contact your local animal control or wildlife agency if you see a mountain lion.

If the animal appears aggressive or an attack occurs — call 911 immediately.
